JVZ Safaris
Trophy kudu bull in the Limpopo bushveld

Limpopo · South Africa

Hunt with Jacques.

If you love hunting, you will be at home here. Hard work, fair chase and the old Afrikaans way of the veld, with one party in camp at a time and every detail of the journey handled, from charters to visas.

Jacques takes on a handful of safaris a year and hosts every one himself. One party in camp, start to finish. Those weeks are few, most of them kept by guests who come back every year, and they start with a conversation, not a booking form.

Why JVZ

The safari the big operations cannot offer

One group at a time

When you hunt with JVZ, you are the only client in camp. The lodge, the professional hunter, the trackers and the staff work for your party alone. No shared blinds, no strangers at dinner, no waiting your turn.

Hosted by Jacques, personally

Every safari is hosted by Jacques van Zyl himself. Two decades as a professional hunter, from Cameroon to Zambia, Namibia and Mozambique, and twelve years running his own big game concessions. He hunts the way he was raised: hard work, fair chase, the way of the Boer, handed down for nearly four centuries.

Every detail handled

From the moment you land at OR Tambo, the logistics are ours: airport meet, road or charter transfer to camp, visa support, rifle paperwork or a hired rifle waiting in camp, and field preparation of your trophies.

A camp that ends the day well

Private chef, en suite rooms, daily laundry, WiFi, swimming pools and quality local wine and spirits. The fire is lit when you come off the veld.

Three private lodges

The camp is yours, from the first sundowner

Tunda and Hoogland in the Waterberg. Mogwele outside Thabazimbi. Each lodge hosts your party alone, fully inclusive.

Africa is one message away

Tell Jacques who you are, what you want to hunt and when you can travel. If the fit is right, he will come back to you personally with dates. A few safaris a year, the right guests rather than the most.
