Travel & Concierge

The easiest hunt you will ever plan

An African safari sounds complicated. Ours is not. You book the flight to Johannesburg; everything after the jet bridge is handled.

Charters to camp

Land at OR Tambo, meet your driver, and either settle into a comfortable 2 to 3.5 hour road transfer or take a charter flight straight to the concession. Your safari starts the moment you clear customs.

Visa support

We confirm entry requirements for every passport in your party and handle the supporting paperwork before you fly, so nobody in your group is guessing at a counter in Johannesburg.

Rifles, both ways

Bring your own rifle and we assist with South Africa's temporary import paperwork before you travel. Or skip the airline gun case entirely: hire a rifle from us, sighted in and waiting at camp.

Trophy logistics

Field preparation by trained skinners is part of every safari. We then coordinate dipping, packing, taxidermy and shipping with trusted partners until your trophies are home.

Non-hunters welcome

Spouses, kids, friends who would rather photograph than shoot: the camp is yours alone, so everyone travels together and nobody compromises. Day excursions can be arranged.

One point of contact

From your first WhatsApp message to the drive back to OR Tambo, you deal with the people who own the safari, not a call centre. Questions get answered the same day.

Questions

Asked before every safari

How do I get to the camps?
Fly into OR Tambo International in Johannesburg. From there the concessions are a comfortable 2 to 3.5 hour road transfer depending on the camp, or a charter flight direct to the concession for parties who prefer to skip the road. We arrange either as part of your safari.
Do I need a visa for South Africa?
Most US passport holders enter South Africa without a visa for short visits. Requirements differ by passport and change from time to time, so we confirm the current position for every member of your party and handle the supporting paperwork before you fly.
Can I bring my own rifle?
Yes. South Africa allows visiting hunters to bring their own rifles under a temporary import permit, and we assist with the paperwork before you travel so the process at the airport is as smooth as possible. If you would rather travel light, hire a rifle from us and it will be sighted in and waiting at camp.
What happens to my trophies?
Your trophies are field-prepared in camp by trained skinners as part of the safari. From there we coordinate dipping, packing, taxidermy and shipping with trusted partners, and keep you informed until the crate reaches you at home.
Can I bring my spouse or family?
Please do. Non-hunting companions are welcome in every camp, and because your party is the only group in camp, the lodge runs around your family rather than around strangers. Day excursions can be arranged around the hunting.
When should I book?
The most popular months are the South African winter, roughly May to September. Jacques hosts a handful of safaris a year, one group at a time, and returning guests take much of the calendar before the season opens, so the honest answer is: start the conversation early. A year ahead is comfortable; less is sometimes possible, so ask.
